So why do they still kill?

| Turkey: | Biblical Scriptures say killing birds is okay. |
| Chicken: | But Biblical Scriptures also say slavery is okay! Read Vegetarians Are Right ... Killing is Wrong! So, why do so many modern religions put the word of the Bible ahead of God’s very own Commandments?

| Turkey: | Biblical Scriptures were written, thousands of years ago, by meat-eating, bird-killing, slavery-tolerant, erroneous men. Read here: AltaVista, Google, Lycos and Yahoo! Apparently God’s Commandments should take precedent over the Bible, but humans don't always do what God says. Look at what a human wrote: EVIL KILLS. APATHY IGNORES. COMPASSION NURTURES. |
| Chicken: | A human wrote those words, and humans have done all those things! How contradictory!

| Turkey: | A mis-rationalization indeed! They prefer to believe what they prefer to be true. (Francis Bacon pointed that out!) They enjoy eating birds. So, they enjoy tricking themselves into believing that what God really “meant” to say is what’s said in the Bible. |
| Chicken: | But men wrote the Bible, and God authored His own Commandments!

| Turkey: | Yes! What requisite level of “stupidity” could possibly sufficiently justify human apathy toward another consciously living bird? How low do you have to go? Question posted at http://www.mdpme.com/MORAL.HTM. |
| Chicken: | Humans choose apathy toward us birds merely because we are of low intellect and lack the capacity to speak the Human language. Regardless of our low intellect, however, we must point out to them that we are still CONSCIOUS and SELF-AWARE! WOW!!! By all universal odds, aren’t you lucky you aren’t a chicken!

| Chicken: | And humans don’t care, because it’s not them!!

| Turkey: | But we creatures are as much ALIVE and CONSCIOUS as they are! "Stupidity" is irrelevant! |
| Chicken: | Yeah! "Dumbness" provides NO excuse for KILLING!

| Turkey: | The choice is clear: Why should their tongues achieve greater priority than their CARING EMOTIONS? |
| Chicken: | The RIGHT option to choose is as plain as the beaks on their faces!

| Turkey: | Noses.
|
| Chicken: | How long will it be before humans (religious leaders included) begin to treat bird-killing like their ancestors (religious leaders included) treated slavery, that is, wrong and criminal yet popularly accepted and widespread? |
| Turkey: | When the day comes that all humans in society decide to live RIGHTEOUSLY rather than SELFISHLY, humans will no longer behave like tyrants over lesser-intelligent creatures. Until then, all that you and I may do is complain. If enough of us complain, perhaps things shall begin to change.

| Chicken: | Maybe in the far, far imaginary future we shall encounter an alien society superior in intellect to humans, and maybe the aliens shall find enjoyment in tyrannizing and consuming them like they have done us! If that happens, though, all our complaints shall have been in vain. We'll have no one left to complain to! |
| Turkey: | Maybe.

| Chicken: | Maybe in the far, far imaginary future shall humans invent a highly complicated machine that turns a bale of hay into a quart of milk! |
| Turkey: | Or soybeans and corn into chicken eggs!
|
| Chicken: | Huh?! Oh my! Imagine the possibilities!! |
| Turkey: | Yep! Why not a machine that builds a "Super Bird," tastier to their tongues than you or me?! And our bird species shall then become obsolete and extinct!

| Chicken: | Extinct! By a machine?! |
| Turkey: | Yep! Built by humans!
|
| Chicken: | Those tyrants!
|
| Turkey: | Maybe in the far, far imaginary future shall humans find a way to make you and me smarter so that we may speak Human! Maybe then they'll find a way to take one of us to a lab so as to increase your or my brain size several hundred times over! |
| Chicken: | Imagine that! I'll definitely tell them what's on my mind!! That they are WRONG! That they are TYRANTS over us! We don't know any better.... We may be dumb ... but that's not our fault! I’m STILL CONSCIOUS and ALIVE!

| Turkey: | Yep. Me too. I'll certainly give 'em a piece of my little mind! |
| Chicken: | Me too!
|
| Turkey: | Maybe in the far, far imaginary future shall humans build a machine that thinks better than Human! |
| Chicken: | Maybe that intelligent machine will convince humans of their self-centeredness! Maybe that intelligent machine will free us like Moses freed Egypt!
|
| Turkey: | Or Ghandi. Or Lincoln. Or... |
| Chicken: | If only I could talk to Ghandi today!
|
| Turkey: | They still wouldn't listen. Ghandi spoke, and Ghandi died, but they still do what they'd always done to us before. |
| Chicken: | Yeah. They don't even listen to God (“Thou shalt not kill”)!! Why would they listen to Ghandi?!
|
| Turkey: | Yep. They may be smarter than we are, but they are still dumb, contradictory and irrational! |
| Chicken: | Yeah. Dumb animals!
|
| Turkey: | Maybe if they had feathers on their heads they might treat us like they treat dogs and cats. |
| Chicken: | But our skins are still the same!
|
| Turkey: | They don't see our skins. So, they don't realize that they are destroying LIFE. In their minds, we're just "fluff." |
| Chicken: | ...out of sight ...out of mind.
|
| Turkey: | Yep! The human mind, as incredibly intelligent as it may be, is capable of shutting down its very own astoundingly beautiful CARING EMOTION and allow APATHY to run rampant like a wild and viscious animal! Humans must shut off their CARING EMOTIONS to KILL, even when they kill "stupid" birds. Can you imagine yourself walking up to a turkey, grabbing it, and chopping it's head off before slaughter? |
| Chicken: | Oh my! The very thought of it!! Horridly Chilling!!!

| Turkey: | CARE is the foundation upon which JUSTICE sits. But many in modern society seem to have been blinded by the erroneous ideas of misguided leaders. And Why? Because APATHY is CRIMINAL! Earth’s other living creatures are in many ways EMOTIONAL, FEELING, SELF-AWARE and CONSCIOUS just as humans are! But humans KILL them! Humans choose APATHY when it conveniently provides them with what they want. Humans are self-centered! |
| Chicken: | All CONSCIOUS life deserves protection. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

| Chicken: | Yeah, God said it first: Killing is criminal!

| Turkey: | Apathy adores simplicity; compassion confronts complexity. Where people don’t care, others suffer. |
| Chicken: | Yeah, and Evil Destroys CONSCIOUS Life....

| Turkey: | Yep. There's a will to kill ... unfortunately. |
